Questions
The useful details before you feed it a thousand holiday photos.
Does conversion remove EXIF, GPS and camera metadata?
Yes. The browser redraws the decoded pixels into a new canvas and encodes a fresh file. Embedded EXIF, GPS, author and software metadata are not copied.
Why is AVIF unavailable in my browser?
Some browsers can display AVIF but cannot encode it from a canvas. The option is disabled when the required encoder is missing. WebP is the broadest efficient alternative.
What does Fill a box do?
It creates the exact requested aspect ratio by taking a centred crop, similar to CSS cover. Fit inside a box keeps the complete image and may produce smaller dimensions on one axis.
Will animated GIFs stay animated?
No. This converter uses the browser-decoded first frame. Pagan GIF Studio remains the correct tool for preserving or editing animation.
